The Buckaroo has a long history in the town of Hudson, South Dakota. It was started in the mid 1940's and ran until the mid 1970's. The business was primarily a drinking establishment that occupied a building just north of its present location.
In 1996 Alan Miller reopened the Buckaroo. Alan worked in the seed industry and farmed for 20 plus years. It was always his dream to open an establishment of the Buckaroo's nature. He had a vision of a great time with friends, a tasty meal, and a stiff drink which is still holding strong today. David Miller, Alan's son is the current owner and sees to it that Alan's dream is carried on.
The Buckaroo features the best in local "American" dining. This includes mouthwatering smoked pork ribs, prime rib, hand-cut steaks, seafood and everything in between. We buy our steaks as local as possible. Everything is hand cut and prepared "in-house." We take pride in our secret recipes. All of our sauces, rubs, marinades, dressings and seasonings happen here. Nothing is served without Dave's seal of approval. It's the top notch flavors that you can be sure to enjoy.
